The Peak at Gaisano Mall is the ultra-modern mall in Davao City, and it is located in J.P Laurel Avenue in Bajada, and it is now a welcoming addition to the ever-increasing structures that dominate the city skyline of Davao City. This place is on the rooftop of Gaisano Mall and it provides a beautiful 360 degrees view of downtown cityscape, the Gulf of Davao, and the gorgeous Mount Apo, which is the Philippines’ highest mountain peak. The inviting view of the Mall’s sky-park themed Al Fresco ambiance and the gorgeous landscape that is surrounding the place and it has interactive fountains at the center of the peak that changes the colors interchangeably is surely to make families happy, as well as your friends and business associates that needs to shop, dine, relax and hang out.
Another draw is the well-lit row of restaurants that are along the Al Fresco area near the arches. It is the perfect place for dinner dates because of the romantic view of the city at night. The Mall also provides the ample parking spaces at the top floor for easy access.
The Peak, that is owned and is operated by the Gaisano family of Davao whose roots originated in Cebu City where the family matriarch, the late Dona Modesta Gaisano, started the retail chain in the 70’s on the ground floor of a rented house that is turned into small restaurant and shop in Colon, Cebu which later became the White Gold Department Store, predecessor of the Gaisano malls.
In 1981, the sons of Dona Modesta, who are David, Stephen, Henry, Victor and John decided to split the corporation and they went separate ways. The family’s mall chains are currently run by the second-generation Gaisanos that their cousins. Stephen Gaisano, Jr. son of Jr. of the Davao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, runs the Gaisano Ilustre in Cebu, while the other cousins are involved in other mall-related businesses.
The flaghship company of the family is the DSG Sons Group, Inc. which owns and operates the four biggest malls in Mindanao. In the late 1980’s the group opened branches in Tagum, General Santos City, Digos and Davao City.
If you wish to visit this place, you can do so by flying from Manila to Davao City, your airfare will depend on your airline. Once you reach Davao City, you can ride a taxi going to Gaisano Mall. They are open from 10:00am to 9:00pm.
